Josh is all army, air force...anything military actually. This weekend was focused on bug and getting a new set up in his room. We changed his bunk bed situation, got sheets that are fit for any solider, and dropped some cash at IKEA for a few 'big boy' items including a new desk. Josh is so excited for his hide away under his bed that I am certain will be a new fort in the morning.

my little solider
bowling for alaska
My super cute cousin Katie goes to Alaska every summer to work for a cruise line. This year is no different. Her parents rented out the UofU union bowling alley for us all to enjoy each others company and have some fun. We had a blast saying our goodbyes for this summer season to Katie!

the season has come to an end
It was the last Utah Utes gymnastics meet of the season & senior night tonight. And what better way to go out than with a win against the cougars?! My family met at Training Table to grab some grub before we headed up to the hill. Jordan & his buddy Spears met us as well, but they headed the opposite direction to hit the Jazz game.

Michelle with the kids all dressed and ready to cheer for the Red Rocks!
This was Josh's first & last meet of the season. The excitement wore off right after the first rotation. I have a feeling he won't be digging the meets now until he is a little bit older and 1) enjoys the view and 2) understands the sport.

Easter weekend
Easter weekend could have been a bit lonely, given that Josh was miles and miles away. However, I was lucky to be invited to the Monsen household for their annual Easter egg hunt. It was very fun hiding the eggs for Michelle's neices and nephews. It was a very fun afternoon and not as lonely as it could have been.

Sunday, my sister Heidi had us all over for a dinner and games. My nephew is so dang cute!

josh's trip to texas
Josh had a great time with his dad in Texas. He went to the beach, Sea World, and his favorite the air force base where his uncle works. He was so excited to talk about the flight simulator he was able to be in and practice flying a plane. I think I might have a future pilot on my hands!

Wednesday Play
Boston - planes, trains & automobiles
So I have been home for a couple of days now, but unfortunately you come home & have to get back to the work grind. However, I did have to make it home somehow!
My last day in Boston was very chilly, a wind chill of 17 degrees, but the sun was shining. This morning I had the opportunity to go see my sister Amy in action in her big wig job at Harvard. Harvard campus is HUGE, I really had no idea. We walked across the river and I was able to take this gorgeous picture.
This is the building where Amy works and her cubical. SMILE!
She took me to the subway for my long journey home. I had a 20 minute subway ride, an hour train ride, a 20 minute cab ride and then my flights. This was our final picture together of the trip.
The train station. I have never been on a train and I was waiting for the coco like in the Polar Express after the conductor took my ticket and punched it just like in the movie!

I think this might have been in Rhode Island. I am not positive, but I enjoyed the scenery on the train!
This is what I came home to...a very empty airport. My flight from Rhode Island took an extra hour due to wind and then my connecting flight from Phoenix was delayed due to plane trouble. I didn't land in Utah until 1:30 am. I was exhausted!Sunday, March 16, 2008
Boston
It is my last full day in Boston and its Sunday...so we took our time getting up and then headed out for a fun filled shopping and final sights day. Amy & Lee posed on the subway.
We went for crepes at this very cute restaurant right off of Harvard Yard. They were delicious and then we were ready for a long day of walking.
Some other sights of the yard...including John Harvard himself. People rub his toe for good luck, just like the pope's in the Vatican! Even with the cloudy skies, the campus in amazing. Amy also wanted to pose in front of her building where she is currently taking a Boston history course.

Next we were off for more shopping and sight seeing at Harvard Square and Newbury Street. We had not finished either yesterday!
Curious George is a darling toy store which I now love. We visited there twice!

Black Ink is another corky store which I fell in love with. Lee trying on shoes at the North Face store.

Newbury Street where there were tons of high end stores as well as cute boutiques. Trader Joe's a staple of California also made our destination list.
We got very lucky on our way back to the house to get a glimpse of sun. It has not been out all weekend. I was super excited because I love taking sunset pictures and I was able to get one here as well.

We came back to the house this evening and Lee cooked a delicious dinner of mahi mahi and broccoli. Then we enjoyed each others company and even got a game in. We played a game I hadn't heard of Citadels, a card game with lots of strategy. I have had a great time hanging with my sister and her hubby. I am excited to get a little bit more of Boston in tomorrow and get back home to my other loved ones!
