joe cocker and steve miller band

I love this summer full of music...love it! Tonight I went with Michelle, Rebecca, and Marcia to Jock Cocker and Steve Miller Band. It was by far the funnest concert so far of the season. We were dancing and jumping all around and had a blast.

Joe Cocker...he rocks for an old man!
Steve Miller Band is always a good show. The last time I saw them I was in high school and just a young one then, but it was just as good, if not better the second time around!

weekend fun

We have had a fun and full weekend! Josh had 2 parties to attend to, we of course did some evening swimming, and ran errands. Tonight we decided to go up Millcreek Canyon and roast some marshmallows and do some exploring with Josh the explorer.

We had a great time. Hopefully we are able to go camping at least once this summer. The s'mores and fire have me excited to sleep in the woods! :-D

24th of July

Today, although a Utah holiday was still a work day. I almost forgot about the holiday all together and celebrated in the non-traditional way. Dinner at the Dodo, treats from the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, and the dark knight movie with Mims and Jordan. We had fun and even caught a few fireworks on the drive home. Happy 24th!

mamma mia

I had the pleasure of going to dinner and a movie with Michelle and her parents Roger and Carole. We had a great dinner and then headed over to the movie Mamma Mia. First, LOVE Abba. Second, movie was great. I loved Mamma Mia as a live theater performance, but the movie was a close second. If you need a night of entertainment I would recommend the show!

shakespeare festival

I just returned from Cedar City and the Shakespearean Festival. I had the pleasure of taking 43 staff and students to Cedar City to enjoy the play Othello. The gateway students have been studying the play in English class this summer.
It was a great play...and quite the adventure. We camped in the canyon at a beautiful campground, but of course had trouble finding it since I was in charge of directions. We didn't quite have all the items necessary for a successful camping trip either, but we made due. The scariest part was returning to the site after the play and all 7 vehicles dodging deer the 28 miles back to the campground. One of us wasn't so lucky and hit a deer. Fortunately, we were all ok.

colbie caillat & john mayer

Music heaven...another fabulous night for a concert and the artists tonight did not disappoint. Mims and I went to enjoy Brett Dennon, Colbie Caillat, and John Mayer.

I honestly could sit outside every night and listen to live music. It is good for my soul! :-D

first loose tooth

Josh finally has a loose tooth!
Josh was so excited to be eating some cereal last night and realize his bottom front tooth was loose. He was so happy about it, he could hardly stand it. He was so bummed at the end of kindergarten that everyone in his class had lost at least one tooth except him. Now it is finally his turn! toothless pictures to follow...

the Police

My summer will be full of live music and I LOVE it! Tonight was the Police concert. My brother Curtis and his friend Jill came with us.

While we waited outside the gates and inside on the lawn, we played cards, read books, and people watched. It was very nice and relaxing, although very warm!

Elvis Costello played first and Sting came out to sing with him at the end of his set.

The Police rocked the rest of the night and man did they rock. They are one band everyone should see live at least once. The music was amazing and once the sun went down the weather was just right too. I can't wait for the next one...Colbie Caillat & John Mayer on Monday! :-D

saturday play

My mom would disagree, but Saturdays are not just a chore day. Pool play time is a must!

i have missed my bug...

Josh has been at his dad's for the last two weeks. I am so excited to be able to play with him this weekend. We didn't waste any time to dive into the activities.

We ran a few errands and decided to stop at one of our favorite spots...the bookstore. Josh takes his time checking everything out to make sure he finds the perfect book. Today he chose The Indian in the Cupboard for us to read together through the rest of the summer.

We met up with Mims after she got off work and went to the movie Space Champs. Some person or persons were on some serious medication when that movie was written and put together. It is a bad version of teletubbies, BUT Josh giggled through the whole movie, so it ended up being worth it.

Finally, we hit the pool for some twilight swimming. Josh is a total fish and would sleep in water I think if I let him...and he has never had swim lessons. I have no idea where he gets it from. I guess some people are just born with the swim gene!

take me out to the ball game

Tonight I was invited to play with some friends at the Bees game. I went with Michelle and met Denice, Joylynn, Deanne, and Lorinda at the Franklin Covey Stadium. Unfortunately, the Bees had no intention of winning. However, Real soccer up the street pulled out a big W at Rice Eccles Stadium and have put themselves in first place in their division. At least one Utah team pulled it out tonight!

start of the summer concerts

The summer concert season has officially begun. Cheap Trick, Heart, & Journey were the first stop on the list of concerts I will be attending this summer.
My brother, Kari, Mims, & I stopped for some pizza at Litza's before driving to Usana amphitheatre for the show.
The weather was gorgeous, not too hot, slight breeze. We had lawn seats so we had plenty of room to spread out, relax, and enjoy the show.

Rebecca, Marcia, and Amy met up with us at the beginning of Heart. The music was rockin'. It was a great start to my summer concert series. Next up...the Police.
