i have been tagged

I was tagged by my cute friend Tristine, who knows I can't just not do it. :-D This is a 'keeping it real' tag. The idea is to take pictures of things as they are right this second, not after cleaning it up, combing your hair...you get the point.
1) the toilet
2) the fridge
3) the kitchen sink
4) my closet
5) the laundry room
Tris, I will gladly take your working washer and dryer so you can get your front loaders...my laundry room has become the catch all room without those appliances!
6) my favorite shoes (if barefoot isn't an option)

7) my favorite room
8) what I am doing right now - watching the flick Imagine Me & You
9) me un-showered and sicker than a dog :-D

I tag Nikki, Holly and Amy. Get on it girls!

UTAH FOOTBALL SEASON

It is Utah football season and I couldn't be more excited! I invited the family over for the big game. We grilled, watched the game, and enjoyed each others company. A few of the non die hard football fans got in a few rounds of hand and foot too.

My parents, Jordan, Spears, Heidi, Dylan, Curtis, Laurel, Mims, and me of course.

Utah pulled through, although they kept it exciting until the end...again. The W came 25 to 23 over Michigan. Now they just need to prepare for UNLV. Last year, the Utes had a huge upset over UCLA and the next game was UNLV in Vegas. We of course made the trek only to be sorely disappointed when they were killed by them. I hope there isn't a repeat!

GO UTES!

last summer swim

Josh has been in the pool all summer long, every second he isn't eating or sleeping, both of which he would choose not to do if swimming was the other option. He calls himself 'a fish'.

Sadly, the pool closes on Monday and he is at his dad's until Monday night. So last night was his last outdoor swim until next summer. Good thing we are getting ready to hit the beach in a week...I refuse to let summer end!

tuesday is the new activity day

Josh and I love our playdates and decided even though he is in school until 3 we would would figure out how PLAY. Tuesday afternoons is our new play date and Josh picked the planetarium as our first adventure.

There were a few new exhibits which he thought were pretty cool including the weighing machine for your weight on different planets.

We of course goofed off in the gift shop and tried on different funny hats.
I love my Josh time!

the first grade has begun

Josh started first grade this week. The first day of school he was so excited to be able to WALK instead of the normal 45 minute drive. He had slept over at Grandma's (since I was playing at a concert). He loved looking for different bugs and birds on the way over.

We found his locker by his first grade class room. He hasn't had a locker before and he thought that was pretty cool. Oh and of course his new spiderman backpack!

last outdoor concert of the season

James Blunt and Sheryl Crow ended my summer of outdoor concert series. And what a way to end!
Rebecca, Marcia, Amy, & Susan
We paid for seats for this concert and in true me style had them on the 3rd row. Amy and I left our seats and stood as close as we could and danced and sang the whole night.

We posed for a picture at the end. The security guard took it for us, and as he was taking the picture his boss started yelling at him to move us out of there. His job was to clear the area not to take pictures, so we are all looking at the yelling boss guy. :-D
Nothing could have damped our mood because it was by far the best concert of the season!

birthday fun

Landon turned 3 and Josh was invited to play with him and his family at Jungle Jim's to celebrate.

I unfortunately was home battling a migrane (thanks for getting me home safely Heidi), but Michelle and Josh had a blast with the Monsen's.

And I got to celebrate the next day at Landon's offical birthday party. :-D

Lake Powell 2008

We are back from Lake Powell and man did we have a blast! I wish we could have stayed longer.

The pictures I posted earlier are better than any that I got myself, but I like this sight on the river, Camel Rock.

We left Saturday and slept in a tent and got up early Sunday to get on the houseboat and look for a spot. Josh and I were the "spot savers" and had a blast exploring the get beach and caves while the houseboat, speedboats, and the rest of the party made it down the lake.

The hike through Antelope Canyon was unreal. We had to walk through some major yuk and pass a dead bunny, but it was entirely worth the views we got further down.

The majority of the trip Josh was counting the lizards and was trying to get me to catch one. I was too slow on all my tries, but Tami caught one. Josh helped put the lizard to sleep by rubbing its tummy and then they attached it to my ear for a new fashion earring. You have to look close because the lizard blends right in with my hair.

The very tight Antelope Canyon that we walked our boats into.
Tami, Susi, and Kelly

We got up at the crack of dawn and went to visit Rainbow Bridge. It was a short walk and gorgeous. It would be so need to see it actually filled with water below it!
The crew: bottom to top Vicki Gus, Steph, Goose, Tami, Lisa, Joylynn, Deanne, Denice, Mims, Me, Kelly, Marilynn, and Susi
Josh was the picture taker for this one :-D
We played games...

Had our own water Olympics, water volleyball and basketball...

And of course played in the water! We had a great time. I love my friends!
